Frequently Asked Questions for older VELUX product
Product manufactured between 2001 and 2010
Question: I installed a VSE/VCE. The skylight does not respond to the remote control. The light blinks once and stays on.
Answer: Make sure the insect screen is properly in place. The insect screen depresses a safety switch on the motor. No contact means no power. Wind gusts can sometimes move the insect screen and break the contact, while insect screen is removed, push and hold the safety switch down while operating the skylight with the remote control.
Question: I depressed the safety switch and my VSE/VCE does not respond.
Answer: The power to VSE/VCE unit may need to be reset. Try to reset the breaker from your fuse box. If that doesn't work, remove the operator cover to your skylight and unplug white connector with the 2 red wires.
Question: I reset the power and my VSE/VCE does not respond.
Answer: The problem could be with the transformer or the printed circuit board. Please contact the VELUX Service Department.

Answer: If no light appears on the skylight while using the remote control then check the wiring to the junction box. No light means no power to the unit.
