For the Smart Skylight experience, upgrade to VELUX Active with NETATMO for smart sensor control of skylights based on your homes indoor climate: room temperature, humidity and Co2. Enjoy using your smartphone device to control and monitor your skylights. VELUX Active is also compatible with voice command devices

VELUX Laminated glass with Neat coating technology

We all dream of a nice and peaceful sleep, and through research and innovative design our team of acoustic specialists has developed an innovative skylight, with Laminated glass that features our Neat coating technology. With this window, the sound of rain noise is reduced by 50% compared to a standard VELUX skylight. Our window surface is also glass exceptionally smooth. In fact, it's much smoother than ordinary glass, so water disperses evenly and evaporates quickly, greatly reducing water spotting.

Which installation method should you use?

Deck or curb 

The skylight you choose for your home can be installed with a variety of techniques due to the extreme Canadian weather, VELUX recommends deck or curb mounted installations.  Where you're located in the country and the installation method that your installer prefers will generally determine which type of system you'll choose. A deck mounted skylight is installed directly onto the roof surface creating a lower sleeker profile.  A curb mounted skylight, however, has to be installed onto a special site built wooden curb that is attached to the roof.  Both installations are dry installations meaning that they do not require any caulking or sealants which will break down over time.  Contact your installer or a VELUX dealer for further details.
