Green Solution House demonstrates a holistic approach to sustainable building. And VELUX Modular Skylights are a central element.

The Green Solution House, an experimental conference center and hotel, wanted the building to work with the circulation of nature, where guests will have an idea of how it feels to live in a world without waste. Located on the Danish island of Bornholm, it is designed and developed in accordance with the principles of Cradle 2 Cradle®, meaning all materials used in the building are either fully recyclable or biodegradable. VELUX Modular Skylights allowed the building to bring in natural daylight and bring the outdoor inside.

The design of the entire building complex is based on the criteria of the Active House​ vision, inspired by the cradle-to-cradle lifecycle concept, and certified to the high standards of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).

• 196 Ridgelight 25-40° modules provide large amounts of natural daylight to the internal courtyard.
• One third of the modular skylights are fitted with integrated photovoltaics to boost the building’s green profile.
• The building is designed for disassembly and constructed of recyclable materials.
